They say moving house is one of the three most stressful things you can do. At TFM we do all we can to make your move as stress-free as possible. If you are going to be storing your goods we really can help, and if you have a look at this comic strip you can see how easy putting your home into store can be.
All you need to do is follow our handy guide to storing the contents of your home and you’ll have those belongings packed up safe and sound in no time.
Step 1 – Preparation: Packing the contents of your home prior to Removal day.
Packing will be a breeze as long as you’ve got everything ready beforehand. It is even easier if you get TFM to pack the whole contents of your home into boxes before the move. Our staff are trained to pack your china and glass and it is very unlikely you will have anything in your home that they have not packed many times before. If you really do want to do the packing yourself TFM will supply you with some strong and stackable boxes, materials such as packing paper and bedding bags, and some packing tape to seal the cartons. Remember to label everything so you can find it easily later!
Next, you’ll want to find some reliable, experienced (and strong) removals people – like Adam and Harry here. Choosing the right removals company will make sure that you’re getting help from a fully insured and experienced team who know exactly how to pack and store your belongings in the safest and securest way possible.
Step 2 – Loading the Storage containers.
If you use TFM to move your goods to store, the storage containers, which will be brought to your house, and loaded like on the comic strip, have plenty of vents to prevent damp and are perfectly clean and dry inside. The lorry will also have a good strong ramp like this one here.
Make sure you mark any fragile goods so your team know to place them out of harm’s way; it’s also a good idea to mark any sharp or dangerous items to prevent accident or injury when you unpacking your boxes when the containers are re-delivered. Your removals team will make sure no space is wasted and that everything is wrapped up and packed in tight with removals blankets to prevent movement and damage and to keep your belongings extra secure and in pristine condition during transport and storage. All mattresses are stored in quality mattress bags and your hanging clothes are stored hanging inside cardboard wardrobes to ensure they are not creased when they are re-delivered.
Step 3 – Security: Lock, Stock, and Two Sealed Containers.
This is where choosing the right removals company really becomes important, as security is paramount when it comes to keeping your goods safe. Here at TFM, not only do we lock every container but we also place custom seals on each one so that our customers can have peace of mind that their container has not been opened or tampered with when they have their goods re-delivered. Our yards where the containers are stored has security, lighting, high and secure fencing, CCTV and Beam alarms which if broken set off alarms and contact staff who live locally. All goods are fully insured from the time our crew load them, while they are in store and until we deliver them back to your new home.
And that’s all there is to it! See, we told you it was easy…
