Moving Overseas? Why Use TFM?

TFM are a genuine family-run company established in 1992. We are members of the British Association of Removers (BAR) and always use our own staff to estimate, wrap and pack peoples’ homes. Your shipping paperwork will be prepared by a member of staff who specialises in overseas removals.

With our experience and knowledge of overseas removals, we will try to warn you of the pitfalls before your goods are shipped, not afterwards. We will make every effort to include everything in our estimate so you do not receive any additional charges when your goods arrive at their destination.

Beware of cheap estimates from agents who have never viewed your property. However well you think you have described your move, if you miss something it will not be their fault. If the volume is wrong, or the agent at the destination demands more money, you will see the true value of using an accountable mover who is a member of a recognised trade association.

Small Loads to Most Worldwide Destinations

At TFM, we provide a number of international removals every year, and our team is very experienced in shipping via a groupage system. Groupage containers allow us to ship small numbers of cartons, boxes, furniture and other large items to your destination of choice, alongside other people’s shipments. We will always provide you with a quotation in writing based on discussions between yourself and our estimator, or a written list that you provide to us.

With every job, we complete a full written inventory of items you’re shipping and can pack and wrap anything as requested, as well as provide comprehensive insurance to keep your items safe. One of our agents will be in contact with you when they’re ready to deliver the shipment.

How worldwide groupage works

Wherever we have items to ship to, there’ll be containers ready and waiting to go there. Other contractors, as well as TFM, will bring in consignments that are carefully stacked into the containers heading for that destination.

Once the containers are full, they are returned to port to be loaded and will sail to the destination. Our agent will then unload the container for you when it has arrived and deliver all of the items to you. The full container is then replaced by an empty one and the process of filling it up with various peoples’ belongings begins again.

How long does worldwide groupage take?

There are many variables when it comes to determining the time that a shipment will take to reach its destination. The biggest one is how often the shipment goes to that country and how long it takes to fill the container. It can also be affected by how long the agent takes to have the items released to them. Though we have little control over timings when the items leave our hands, we’ll do our best to give you an estimate of time.

TFM can arrange an exclusive shipping container which our staff can load at your home and will only hold your possessions. Your container will be sealed, and we will complete and give to you a full numbered inventory.

Your container will be loaded to a ship, and we will give you a specific date of arrival. Our agent will deal with all customs and immigration procedures and contact you with a date of delivery to your new home.
