Piano Removals
Moving pianos locally & around the world for 35 years
Piano Removals in Essex, North Kent & East London
With over three decades of experience moving pianos, you can always be confident your piano is in safe hands.
We have vast experience from simple upright piano removals to antique grand pianos and organs, meaning our staff will not be phased by any piano removal.
Moving a piano takes much more than moving a standard piece of furniture, the weight and size alone means a full risk assessment is always essential, and the fragile nature of a piano means great care and specialist equipment is a must. At TFM, this is standard practice.
We move all variations of piano and organ, and every single removal is treated the same; a full risk assessment is carried out, the piano is always dismantled and re-built by our staff, each and every piece is professionally wrapped, we always use piano trolleys and piano shoes, and all of our staff are fully trained in piano moves and re-assembly.
We also offer a piano removal service to most European and worldwide destinations.
Difficult Access, Stairs or Window Removals
We have a vast knowledge and collection of specialist equipment at our disposal to facilitate even the most difficult piano removals. We can use external elevators or cranes to lift pianos through flat windows, if the stairs are too tight for the piano to
be moved up. If it is possible to get the piano where you want it, TFM will achieve it.
Safe & Swift Piano Removals
The biggest challenge with pianos, whether they are upright or grand varieties, is that they tend to be large and bulky. Tight doorways and accessibility problems are just some of the hurdles we may have to overcome
We will always look to dismantle the piano if it is possible. We ensure this dismantling is carried out professionally and all pieces are properly labelled and wrapped so the piano can be reassembled at the new address.
Even once the various parts of the piano are dismantled they are still large, heavy and fragile. Specialist piano wheels are used in all cases and piano shoes are used in the case of grand pianos. These protect the piano from any marks or scuffs, while still making it safe for our staff to carry.
When the piano is successfully out of the property, it will be loaded on to our removal vehicle. A ramp or tail lift is usually necessary. Ramps make loading easier and reduce the risk of damage and injury.
Once loading is complete the instrument needs to be protected while it is transported to the new address. We will properly secured in place to prevent it from moving around. Packing blankets will be used to provide the additional protection that is needed.
