International Removals to New Zealand

TFM have been shipping complete homes or a small number of items from Essex, Kent and East London to New Zealand since 1992.

Why Choose TFM for Removals to New Zealand?

TFM is a member of the British Association of Removers (BAR) and has been shipping household belongings to New Zealand for over 20 years. We are proud of our reputation as a professional, efficient and friendly international removals company. We always use our own staff to estimate, wrap, pack and load containers, and your shipping paperwork will be prepared by an employee who specialises in overseas removals and liaises with shipping lines and agents around the world.

We do not choose our overseas agents because they are the cheapest; we choose them because, like TFM, they will take care of your belongings and keep you informed of the timetable of your shipment. Given our experience and knowledge of organising removals to New Zealand, we will look to ensure you receive the most efficient and safe transport of goods since we understand where potential pitfalls may arise.

"We’ve moved 6 times in the last 7 years both within England and internationally and the service was excellent. We had an excellent team of movers and they had a wonderful, respectful and friendly relationship with each other - this makes a big difference in my experience. It was one of the most relaxing moves I’ve ever done. I would rather use TFM again than any of the large international moving companies we have previously used."

Exclusively Shipping Containers to New Zealand

It is common when moving a great distance internationally to use either a 20 or 40foot container for exclusive shipping, so your goods are kept extra safe.

Our TFM staff load your belongings themselves into a shipping container that will only carries your items and the container will then be sealed shut. All items will be accounted for in a complete item inventory that is shared with you. Sealed containers are then loaded onto the New Zealand-bound ship and set off to its destination. Our agent will manage customs and immigration and contact you with a delivery date to your new home.

You can also have your car sent with your household belongings in the container – we will secure your car for shipping and provide comprehensive insurance. If you’d like to arrange for a door-to-door delivery estimation with one of our members of staff, please don’t hesitate to call us on 0800 907 8484.

We can also hold your goods in storage in the UK before shipping to New Zealand, if required. If you think you may need storage, bear in mind that UK storage will be cheaper than in New Zealand.

Small Consignments in Groupage Containers to All Areas of New Zealand

We ship groupage containers to Christchurch on the South Island and Wellington or Auckland on the North Island, from these destinations our agents can deliver to any town or area in New Zealand. Before shipping, our expert team will give you a written quotation based on a list supplied by you or our estimator will visit you to discuss your requirements.

We can also pack and wrap your goods ready for shipping and offer comprehensive insurance to keep your goods safe in transport. We will complete a full numbered inventory of the goods you ship, and our agent will contact you when your goods are ready for delivery to you.

How Groupage to New Zealand Works

There are always containers on the ground for each worldwide destination that we ship to, including New Zealand. TFM and other contractors will bring in consignments, and the cargo is loaded directly into the container that it is going to be shipped in.

Once the container is full, it is returned to port to be loaded onto it’s transport ship. The container will then sail to the destination where our agent will unload it and deliver all of the individual consignments to the customers. Another empty container is collected from the port at the same time and the process is repeated for the next customers moving to New Zealand.

How Long Does Groupage to New Zealand Take?

It depends how much cargo there is at that time of year which will determine how long it takes to fill up the container. Also affecting how long a groupage project will take is how often a ship sails to the destination, the time the ship takes to reach the destination and then the time it takes to have the container released to our agent. Our team will try to give you an indication of time, but apart from the collection of goods the whole process is out of TFM’s control.

Adam Coleman

Director

Adam has been working at TFM with his dad since before he went to school! And whilst he has been a Director of the firm since 2013, he is very much hands-on with the removals side of the business, and this is where his passion lies. Growing up he spent Saturdays and school holidays learning what it takes to be a removal man and has completed courses in export wrapping, packing fine china and glass and moving specialist furniture. He passed his Class 1 HGV licence in his early twenties and now drives our largest 44-tonne lorries. He is now second to none when it comes to specialist packing, wrapping and managing large removals. Adam is the complete removal man and has patiently helped his two younger brothers and other young members of the TFM team as they learn the ropes of removals, while earning his nicknames of 'Dachshund' (due to his very long body and short legs) or 'Larry' (because he really is as happy as).

Joshua Coleman

Like his brother Adam, Josh has never known life without removals! He has, since he could walk, learnt about all aspects of removals and storage, and started working full-time at the age of 16. He passed his HGV test when he was eighteen and his International Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) shortly after, meaning he is a qualified Transport Manager and therefore holds the operator’s licence at TFM. He became a director in 2013, and whilst a lot of his time is spent in the office or out visiting customers, carrying out estimates, he can, like his older brother Adam, regularly be found on removals driving the lorries and putting his skills and knowledge in all things removals into practice. Like his father, Josh is also short. He can also be grumpy and argumentative and is therefore regularly confused on the phone for his father, even by Tricia, but of course he says he is nothing like his dad.

Director

Having built up the business from scratch, Ralph has always been 100% committed to ensuring TFM is amongst the best removal companies in the South East of England. In equal measure his pig-headed stubbornness, attention to detail, vision and absolute commitment to excellent customer service has driven TFM toward his goal. Ralph still strives to deal with every customer himself, at some point in their removal process, and on the rarest of occasions he can even be spotted out on the lorries (even if it is just folding blankets and drinking coffee!). Lucky enough to have his sons working alongside him, he enjoys sharing his experience and knowledge, knowing that the next generation are there to help him continue to drive TFM forward.
We are members of the British Association of Removers and exceed their strict and exacting standards, which fewer than 600 removal companies in the UK can claim.
