International Removals to Australia

TFM have been shipping complete homes or a small number of items from Essex, Kent and East London to Australia since 1992.

Why Choose TFM for Removals to Australia?

Australia is a popular destination for British expats, so if you’re relocating to Australia and need assistance moving and storing your items, we’d be happy to help you. TFM is a member of the British Association of Removers (BAR) and we have been helping our customers with removals to Australia from London, Essex and Kent for over 25 years.

We are proud to have built a reputation as an efficient, friendly and professional international removals company during this time. We always use our own staff to estimate, wrap, pack and load the container in which your goods are shipped. All of the staff who will come to your home will be experienced and fully vetted full-time employees of TFM – we don’t use agency staff. We also offer premium storage options, with competitive prices for collection, storage and redelivery. All of our storage containers are secure, clean and dry, and will be loaded at your home.

Your shipping paperwork, insurance and customs clearance will be prepared by a member of staff who specialises in overseas removals and deals with shipping lines and agents throughout the world. We do not choose our agents because they are the cheapest; we choose them because, like us, they will take care of your belongings and keep you informed of the timetable of your shipment. Because of our experience and knowledge of International Removals to Australia we know exactly what to look out for to ensure the safest and most efficient transportation of your goods.

"We’ve moved 6 times in the last 7 years both within England and internationally and the service was excellent. We had an excellent team of movers and they had a wonderful, respectful and friendly relationship with each other - this makes a big difference in my experience. It was one of the most relaxing moves I’ve ever done. I would rather use TFM again than any of the large international moving companies we have previously used."

Exclusive Shipping Containers from The UK to Australia

Most people moving to Australia use an exclusive 20 or 40-foot shipping container to move their entire home. Whether you require a full load to move everything now, or are staggering your move and need a part load, we will send our own experienced and fully-qualified staff to pack and export wrap your belongings.

We will then load your goods into a container that will hold your goods exclusively, and the container will be sealed. We will complete and give you a full numbered inventory. Your container will be loaded to a ship, and we will give you a specific date of arrival. Our agent will deal with customs and immigration and contact you with a date of delivery to your new home.

When you send your household goods to Australia, we can send your car in the same container for you to collect from our agent at the port. We will secure your car for shipping and offer comprehensive insurance. Phone our office on 0800 907 8484 to arrange for an estimator to visit you to discuss your move and give you a written quotation for door-to-door delivery. Our quotation will be detailed and include all charges.

We can hold your goods in-store before shipping if required. If you think you may need storage, UK storage will be cheaper than in Australia.

Australian Groupage Services

Thanks to our extensive experience providing removals to Australia, TFM is well-versed in shipping items for our customers using our carefully planned groupage service. This is where we ship a small quantity of furniture or cartons in a groupage container with consignments from other customers.

Small Consignments in Groupage Containers to All Areas of Australia

We ship groupage containers to most of the larger ports in Australia – Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane and Darwin. Our team will give you a written quotation based on an item list supplied by you, or our estimator will visit you to discuss your requirements and give you a quotation.

TFM can expertly pack and wrap your goods to keep them safe during shipping, and we offer comprehensive insurance should something happen during transport. We will then complete a full numbered inventory of the goods you ship, and our agent will contact you when your goods are ready for delivery.

How Does Groupage to Australia Work?

There are containers on the ground for each worldwide destination that we ship to available any time. TFM and other contractors bring in consignments and the cargo is placed directly into the container that it is going to be shipped in.

Once the container is full and the doors are closed, it is returned to port to be loaded on a ship which will sail to the destination, where our agent will unload the container and deliver all of the individual consignments to the customers. When a full container is sent to the port for Shipping, it is replaced in our yard by an empty container and the whole process is repeated.

How Long Does Groupage to Australia Take?

How long the groupage process takes often depends how much cargo there is at that time of year. This will determine how long it takes to fill up the container, how often a ship sails to the destination, the time the ship takes to reach the destination and then the time it takes to have the container released to our agent. We will try to give you an indication of time, but apart from the collection of goods, the whole process is out of TFM’s control.

Adam Coleman

Director

Adam has been working at TFM with his dad since before he went to school! And whilst he has been a Director of the firm since 2013, he is very much hands-on with the removals side of the business, and this is where his passion lies. Growing up he spent Saturdays and school holidays learning what it takes to be a removal man and has completed courses in export wrapping, packing fine china and glass and moving specialist furniture. He passed his Class 1 HGV licence in his early twenties and now drives our largest 44-tonne lorries. He is now second to none when it comes to specialist packing, wrapping and managing large removals. Adam is the complete removal man and has patiently helped his two younger brothers and other young members of the TFM team as they learn the ropes of removals, while earning his nicknames of 'Dachshund' (due to his very long body and short legs) or 'Larry' (because he really is as happy as).

Joshua Coleman

Like his brother Adam, Josh has never known life without removals! He has, since he could walk, learnt about all aspects of removals and storage, and started working full-time at the age of 16. He passed his HGV test when he was eighteen and his International Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) shortly after, meaning he is a qualified Transport Manager and therefore holds the operator’s licence at TFM. He became a director in 2013, and whilst a lot of his time is spent in the office or out visiting customers, carrying out estimates, he can, like his older brother Adam, regularly be found on removals driving the lorries and putting his skills and knowledge in all things removals into practice. Like his father, Josh is also short. He can also be grumpy and argumentative and is therefore regularly confused on the phone for his father, even by Tricia, but of course he says he is nothing like his dad.

Ralph Coleman

Director

Having built up the business from scratch, Ralph has always been 100% committed to ensuring TFM is amongst the best removal companies in the South East of England. In equal measure his pig-headed stubbornness, attention to detail, vision and absolute commitment to excellent customer service has driven TFM toward his goal. Ralph still strives to deal with every customer himself, at some point in their removal process, and on the rarest of occasions he can even be spotted out on the lorries (even if it is just folding blankets and drinking coffee!). Lucky enough to have his sons working alongside him, he enjoys sharing his experience and knowledge, knowing that the next generation are there to help him continue to drive TFM forward.
We are members of the British Association of Removers and exceed their strict and exacting standards, which fewer than 600 removal companies in the UK can claim.

Why Use Our Expert Packing Service?

TFM Removals offer a complete packing service by a trained packing crew to pack all or part of your home, the kitchen or garage, for example, ensuring all your belongings are prepared in the most professional manner. Essential items are generally left until the morning of the move, so there'll be minimal disruption to your daily routine. Cartons will be clearly marked with their contents and destination room. All packing materials are included in the estimate and your items will be fully insured.
